If you have lost / damaged your PIO card, then you can seek the duplicate PIO card.

The procedure and instructions for seeking duplicate PIO card is same as that of applying PIO card; however you must submit the following also as per the respective (lost/damaged) case. 

Please also note that this service is not available by mail. Applicant has to come in person to submit the application form as well as collect the duplicate PIO card.

Lost PIO card

(a) Police Report: A detailed police report mentioning about the loss of PIO card should be submitted. It is essential to lodge a police complaint immediately after the loss of the PIO card otherwise there is a possibility of its misuse.

(b) Copy of the lost PIO card: This should be enclosed.

(c) Statement: Applicant should mention in a duly signed statement how the PIO card was lost.

(d) Fee:

Reference FEE: US$ 20/- (in case PIO card was not issued by this Consulate)

Damaged PIO Card

(a) PIO Card: Original damaged PIO Card should be submitted.

(b) Copy of the PIO: The copy of the PIO card in its non-damaged condition should be provided.  

(c) Statement: Duly signed statement mentioning how the PIO card got damaged, should be enclosed

(d) Fee:

Fee:  US$ 100/-
Reference FEE: US$ 20/- (in case PIO card was not issued by this Consulate)
